Sales teams are accustomed to overcoming objections from prospective clients. But what happens when the objection comes from the salesperson?  Hmm.

Between prospecting, outreach, follow-ups, planning and strategizing, lots of windshield time and video meetings, it can feel like there’s never enough time in the day. But what if you had an assistant that could help you write emails, handle objections, prep for calls, and free up hours of time—all from your iPhone?

Do I have your attention yet?

That’s exactly what ChatGPT can do for you. It’s like having a personal sales assistant in your hand, ready to help you craft the perfect message, refine your pitch, conduct market research, think for you (when you’re not feeling inspired)

and even summarize your last sales call. And the best part? It works on the go, whether you’re between meetings, in the field, or grabbing coffee, you have instant access to insights that give you a real edge.

What This Article Covers:
    • How to use ChatGPT on your iPhone—no tech headaches, just simple, practical steps
    • How sales professionals are using ChatGPT today—real examples, not theory
    • How to keep ChatGPT responses personal and authentic—so you don’t sound robotic
    • Pro tips to make ChatGPT work for you—without slowing you down

I get it—achieving sales results many times is about relationships, not technical stuff. People do business with people, not computers. ChatGPT isn’t here to replace real human-to-human, but it will help you have better ones by giving you fast, relevant insights… yielding better results. If you’re looking for a way to gain an edge, this guide is for you. Let’s dive in.

When are salespeople hesitant to use ChatGPT?

Most are hesitant to think that ChatGPT is a personal assistant as I suggested earlier. Let’s get beyond that. To use ChatGPT on your smartphone, a salesperson’s objection for using it, typically falls into three categories:

  1. “It’s too complicated—I don’t have time to learn another tool.”
  • Salesperson’s Concern: “I already use email, CRM, video calls, and messaging apps. Adding another tool feels overwhelming.”

How to Overcome the Concern:

  • See how ChatGPT is as easy as texting
  • Demonstrate quick wins: “Give me a follow-up email for a prospect who asked for pricing yesterday.”
  • Use voice input: Instead of typing, speak directly into ChatGPT for instant responses. Tip: In my opinion, this is a gamechanger!
  • Keep it mobile-first: ChatGPT can be used on the go while you’re in the field

Think of ChatGPT as your personal assistant. Here’s an example… you’re thinking of creating a new sales outreach plan for your product. Afterall, you’re smart, you’ve been doing this for a while, you can come up with something. But honestly, how long will it take to create an entirely new outreach plan. Hours? days? With ChatGPT, this could be done in a matter of minutes (Yes, Minutes).

  1. “ChatGPT responses are too robotic—I don’t want to lose my personal touch.”
  • Salesperson’s Concern: “I don’t want to send messages that sound AI-generated. My success comes from personal relationships.”

How to Overcome the Concern:

  • Learn how to personalize ChatGPT responses:
    • Prompt example: “Make this email sound more casual and personal: [insert draft].”
  • ChatGPT doesn’t replace you the sales rep—it makes you better.
  • Don’t forget to proof, edit and tweak responses before sending.

ChatGPT gives you a strong starting point, but you still control the final message. Instead of staring at a blank screen, you get a personalized draft in minutes, and you can adjust it to match your style. And the cool thing is, it will eventually learn your style and tone and match it.

  1. “It won’t help me close deals—I need real conversations with customers.”
  • Salesperson’s Concern: “Sales is about relationships, not automation. I need real conversations to close deals.”

How to Overcome the Concern:

  • ChatGPT doesn’t replace conversations—it helps you prepare for them.
  • It can summarize your customer pain points, so you go into calls better informed and prepared.
  • It provides real-time objection handling for challenging situations.
  • It can automate some of your admin work (like CRM notes), so you can spend more time in front of new customers.
  • It can do also SO much more… we’re just scratching the surface.

Depending on your business, ChatGPT won’t complete the full ssale for you on your phone (yet) the way that we are talking about it, but it will help you sell smarter. Naturally, it will free up your time, so instead of writing emails or spending time to think about a task, you can focus on building relationships, pushing the ball down the field closer to the end zone… and closing deals.

Final Tip:

To overcome these objections, try demonstrating ChatGPT on your smartphone to show real-world use cases. For example… try drafting a follow-up email in 30-seconds. Once you see it in action, you just might change your mind about ChatGPT.

Closing: Sell Smarter, Close Faster:

Sales is about working smarter as the old cliché says. And in today’s fast-moving world, the reps who win are the ones who leverage every tool available to stay ahead. ChatGPT isn’t just another piece of tech—it’s a sales enablement powerhouse that can help you when you least expect it. Personally, for me by integrating ChatGPT into my daily routine—right from my smartphone—I’m giving myself a competitive edge. Now that I’ve been doing this for some time, I can’t get enough. I am totally an addict – I love it!
